For information about a specific discipline or
type of competitor, see the links on the left of
this page. Access USAC rulebooks
for all disciplines
here.
A USAC
Release Form (Road/Cyclocross
Release Form
MTB Release
Form) is required at all USA Cycling
events, whether you pre-registered or not. It's
recommended that you print it out, fill out the
required information, and present it with your
license at race registration. It will save you a
bunch of time.
Don
Russell on licensing:
Good news!! The USA Cycling license fees have not
changed. Bad news is all your 2006 licenses have
expired; as of 31 Dec 2006. So it’s time to get a
new one now. Don’t wait until you have to line up at
the race venue, fill out another form and have to
remember your old number as well as the release form
(which I print out and fill out the day before). Go
online
www.usacycling.org, go to your page and
renew. If you’re eligible to upgrade, do that now,
so it shows up on your license.
Remember Collegiate racers: Get your NCCA license
as primary and then add on USAC Road and/or MTB.
It’ll save you $30. Juniors are $30 with $30 for the
add-on Road or MTB license. Everyone else, it
doesn’t matter which is your primary, the add-on (MTB
or Road) is $30, so $60 for one and $90 for both.
Do everyone a favor, especially yourself and the
first race promoters, get your license on-line,
today. When you get your license print out the
confirmation page. Until you get your actual
license, that is your license. You must have either
it or the license when you show up to race. Don’t
expect the promoter or official to have a list of
all the licensed racers. If you don’t have a license
or proof of a license you can fill out an
application with required funds, the official will
check your license currency when they get online or
back with me, and if you’re licensed, they’ll tear
up the form. If not, they’ll send it into USA
Cycling with the rest of the paperwork. If USAC
shows it as duplicate, they’ll tear it up.
Meanwhile, I may recommend that USAC suspend your
racing privileges for a week to a month, because you
misrepresented your status and raced without a
license. You can always race on a one-day license
(Road/CX, $10) but you’ll be limited to Cat 5 (Men),
Cat 4 (Women), or assuming you’re old enough (40+ in
MT), you can race Masters.
