To 2011 Montana Racers
Thanks for licensing and racing in Montana in 2011. We’re looking forward to a great year of racing in 2012. Toward that end, we’re trying to get everyone familiar with some of the everyday services the Montana Bicycle Racing Association (MBRA) provides. One is the website, where races and results are found www.montanacycling.net as well as link to other cycling related activities throughout the region.
The second is that MBRA is the Local Association (LA) that is your direct representative to USA Cycling. Tamara Bessette, tamarabassette @ msn.com, is the President. We work on issues with USAC annually in Colorado Springs, home of USA Cycling, and on monthly teleconferences.
In 2012 we plan on implementing a survey that will get an overall view of how you felt about each of the races you participate in and how racing in MT can be improved.
Additionally, we have a listserve through Yahoogroups that allows us to have e-mail connectivity to each of our members and them to us and everyone else in the association. We strongly urge you to join the listserve, there are usually around 50 monthly emails which provide up-to-date information on races and race changes, rules changes, meetings, and racer specific emails. There is a person who approves membership on the listserve but if you’re interested in bicycle racing in Montana, in just about any way, please join. We’ve tried to make it easy. If you’re already a listserve member you do not need to do this again.
Subscribe: MontanaCycling-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
Clicking on the above link will generate an email which is the sent to the moderator. Add a subject line like “MBRA Listserve” and include something about why you want to join. It can be as simple as “I’m a racer,” “My daughter rides bikes.”
You will get a confirmation email with two options. If you want to get a Yahoogroups account or you have one, follow option 1. If not, Option 2: and add a subject line and send. That should be it.
All members of the listserve can send emails. You can select whether you want them individually or by a digest version that doesn’t come as often and consolidates what’s been sent. Please keep the subject to cycling and no politics.
We sure hope to see you on the roads or in the hills or both in 2012.
Good Luck,
Don Russell
