September 3 Huckleberry Hill Climb, Whitefish Montana

DESCRIPTION:

This traditional mountain bike race use to be  part of the annual Whitefish Summer Games. Big Mountain’s  event is a bicycle hillclimb from the bottom of Big Mountain Road to the Summit House. The winners of this event are crowned Ultimate King and Queen of the Hill. There is also a King and Queen competition that starts in the base area and climbs to the Summit House.

 

ROUTES:

The Ultimate King route follows the Big Mountain Road up through the village to the trail head for the summit trail and then up the entire Summit Trail for a total length of 13 miles with 3700 vertical feet of climbing.

The King route starts at the trail head and follows the entire Summit Trail for a total of 8 miles and 2200 vertical feet of climbing.

 

GENERAL INFO:  Helmets must be worn entire race. The same bike must be used for the entire race. No switching bikes allowed.

 

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:          

7 – 8 am: Registration at the base of the Big Mountain Road.

8:15 am: Ultimate King/Queen start at base of road.

9:15 am: King/Queen start at Bike Shop.

11:30 am: Awards at Summit House.

 

COST: $20, includes t-shirt.
