Held under USAC permit
Saturday April 12, 2003 will mark the 22nd annual Rocky Mountain Roubaix. This classic cycling event is modeled after the famous Paris Roubaix. This 35-60 mile road race has significant sections of unpaved roads. Racers are encouraged to USE HEAVY WHEELS AND TIRES. Flats and out-of-true rims are not uncommon. Support will be "wheel-in, wheel-out" only. This event is a Montana Cup Points Series event.
On Sunday, April 13 there will be a collegiate team time trial, a USCF individual time trial and a USCF and collegiate criterium. The time trial course and criterium course are entirely paved. The time trial course is an approximately 10 km out and back with generally flat terrain. The crit is a simple 4 corner on new roads with slight uphill and downhill sections.
Homestays are available. Email or call Corbin Schwanke (schwanke@selway.umt.edu, 406-721-6380) or Kathleen Jones (katjonesmt@hotmail.com) for arrangements to be made.
All USCF rules apply.
Helmets must be worn during race and warm-up.
The road race and time trial courses are open to traffic. Racers have the use of the right lane only. Yellow line violations will result in disqualification. Promoter reserves the right to combine categories. Racers should realize this racecourse contains rough, unpaved sections of road. Licenses will be available on race day. Non-licensed racers are required to purchase a one-day racing license. Race is neutral during train crossings.
