Under unseasonably warm skies and little wind, Northern Rockies Jason Mohr rode
a strong and complete race to win the Montana Men's Elite State Championship.
Dueling with Montana Velo's Shane Mundt for the entire race on the very fast
but technical Helena High circuit , Mohr capitalized on a small last lap
mistake by Mundt to take the title.
Kathleen Jones (Five Valley Velo) rode uncontested to take the women's title
and John Weyrhich (Five Valley Velo) fought another on-the-rivet battle with
Walt Chauner (Flathead Cycling) to take the Masters 45+ gold medal.
Thanks go to all who showed up to spectate, to all Montana Velo teammates for
helping out as well as Finish Referee Carl "The Champ" Anderberg,
Chief Official Byron DeFord, Atticus Proctor, Sean Kiely, Jason Hobson, and the
Helena School District No. 1 Maintenance Staff.
