The Montana State Time Trial Championships

 

Saturday, July 31st, 2004

 

 

Race sanctioned by USAC, USCF permit pending.

 

All USCF rules apply. All racers must wear helmets while racing, warming-up and cooling-down. Junior gearing restrictions will be enforced.

 

This race is only open to Montana USAC/USCF racers, and points will count towards  Subaru Cup standings. Riders who are not Montana USAC/USCF members will be timed, but not awarded monetary prizes. NOTE!! One-day licensee's cannot compete for the title of State TT Champion nor receive any of the medals!

 

Pre-registration will be Friday, July 30th at Rocky Mountain Roasting Company  at 777 East Main, 7 to 9 p.m. There will be special prize drawings open only to those who pre-register Friday evening.

 

Race day registration, staging and sign-in will be from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Saturday, July 31st at the Veteran’s Park in Wilsall, Montana.

 

Race Location: Wilsall, Montana.

 

From Bozeman: drive north out Bridger Canyon (Hwy 86) to the intersection of Hwy 86 and Hwy 89, north of Wilsall. Turn right on Hwy 89 and proceed ¾ mile into Wilsall. Follow the signs 4 blocks to the Veteran’s Park staging area on the west side of the street. Approximately a 45 minute drive from downtown Bozeman. Do not drive right up to the staging area – park along Hwy 89 (main drag through town).

 

From Livingston: drive north on Hwy 89 to Wilsall, look for the Veteran’s Park staging area on your left, about half way through town. Do not drive right up to the staging area – park along Hwy 89 (main drag through town).

 

The course: is a 40km out-and-back time trial running north on Hwy. 89, starting and finishing at the Shields River overlook at the north end of Wilsall, MT.

 

Pavement is in good condition, with a wide, generally clear shoulder, and a few rollers. The highway will be open to traffic, and racers are required to obey all traffic laws at all times – this includes, but is not limited to: staying to the right except to pass other riders, and yielding to vehicular traffic at the turn-around.

 

 

Race Schedule:

 

9 to 9:45 a.m.. Race-day registration.

 

9:50 a.m.. Pre-race meeting.

 

10:15 a.m.. Race begins. Depending on the number of entrants, we will have either 30 second or 1 minute intervals between riders. Starting order follows:

2)      Women 3,4

3)      Men junior

4)      Men masters B

5)      Men Cat. 4/5

6)      Women 1,2

7)      Men masters A

8)      Men 3

9)      Men 1,2

 

 

Prizes:

 

In additional to the payouts listed below, there will be a prize of $100 each for the fastest man and woman, and $50 each for the fastest male and female juniors.

Additional prizes of merchandise will be distributed through drawings at the end of the race, featuring products from Hammer/E-Caps, Rocky Mountain Roasting Comapany, and SigmaSport. All racers will be eligible for these prizes!

 

Fees: $20 race entry, includes USCF insurance surcharge. USCF annual or one-day license required and available for purchase on-site. NOTE!! One-day licensee's cannot compete for the title of State TT Champion nor receive any of the medals!

MBRA memberships and permanent numbers also available upon registration. Racers without permanent MBRA numbers must purchase a one-day number for $2.
