RACE DESCRIPTION:   Road Race:  A new epic course to add variety to our race schedule.  The race follows an out-and-back course along quiet secondary roads through rural areas east of Great Falls.  The course follows scenic, smooth, lightly traveled highways through rolling terrain with a few 200-300 foot climbs.  The long course has a 500 foot climb.  Distances:  Category 2,3 - 61 miles. Other Categories - 45 miles.  Time Trial  The 5 mile course climbs 700 feet, starting in Centerville, MT

 

DIRECTIONS:  Time Trial  Stage at the Centerville community park, located where shown on the map below.  To locate Centerville, proceed east out of Great Falls on US 89 for 5 miles and turn right (south)  on MT 227 for 5 miles to Centerville.  Registration opens at 9:15 am.  Race starts at 10:30 am.  Start at 30 sec intervals in order of registration.  Free lunch served to racers in Centerville. Road Race  Stage at City Park in Belt, located where shown on the map below.  Registration reopens in Belt at 12:30 pm.  All categories start at 1:30 pm.  Awards after the race at Belt Creek Brew Pub in downtown Belt.

 

SAFETY:  Riders must obey all traffic laws and wear a helmet at all times when racing and warming up.  The courses will be open to traffic so always remember that you are responsible for your safety on the highways.

 

MISCELLANEOUS:  Montana Cup Points Series Event.  USA Cycling rules apply.  One Day ($5) and Annual licenses will be available.  Two stage or RR registration fee $20.00. SCORING:   Omnium Scoring.  Points awarded for placings in TT and RR.  Highest cumulative points wins.  Racers do not have to enter both events to be eligible for overall prizes.  Categories:  Sr 1, 2, 3; Sr 4,5; Master A, Master B, Junior, Women 1, 2, 3; Women 4,5.  Road race fields grouped depending on entries.
