Saturday April 10, 2004 will mark the 23rd annual Rocky Mountain Roubaix. This classic cycling event is modeled after the famous Paris Roubaix. This 35-60 mile road race has significant sections of unpaved roads.  Racers are encouraged to USE HEAVY WHEELS AND TIRES. Flats and out-of-true rims are not uncommon. Support will be "wheel-in, wheel-out" only.  This event is a Montana Cup Points Series event.

RACE COURSE

This year marks a course change after nine years in the Big Flat / Mullan Road area. Development and increased traffic have caused us to move the event South into the Bitteroot Valley. The event will start and finish at Lone Rock School located just Northeast of Stevensville.  See directions and course map below.

The race course consists of a 9.3 mile lapped course. There are two sections of gravel / dirt each about 1.5 miles long. NOTE: Gravel and potholes exist on this race course. Don’t even think about racing your $2000 race wheels!   There is one short but steep paved climb at about mile 6.5 of the loop.

The road race course is open to traffic. Racers have the use of the right lane only. Yellow line violations will result in disqualification.  Promoter reserves the right to combine categories. Racers should realize this racecourse contains rough, unpaved sections of road. Licenses will be available on race day. Non-licensed racers are required to purchase a one-day racing license.
